Flower tips

Flowers are both appreciated and meaningful during a farewell ceremony. They provide something beautiful to rest the eyes upon and add a personal touch to the ceremony.

Many choose to surround the object of the farewell with various flower arrangements. It is also common to combine this with placed bouquets and other floral arrangements.

Remember that there are no musts or rules when you choose flower decorations. Choose what feels right for you and for the farewell you are taking. The range of flowers and arrangements is large and the possibilities are many. We are happy to provide tips and advice.

Flower arrangements for a dignified farewell

There are many ways to make the decoration both dignified and personal. The object of the farewell can be surrounded by flowers that have a special meaning. Perhaps there are also flowers with a special scent that evoke fond memories for those closest to the bereaved? You can also choose to let the flowers follow a particular theme or a particular color that you associate with what you are saying goodbye to.

Possibilities with decorations

It is easy to create a personal feeling with the help of flowers. Be inspired by color, style, and unexpected combinations when choosing flower decorations. For example, if you choose a decoration of delphiniums, the blue-purple color can also reappear in a bouquet placed elsewhere in the ceremonial hall.

– Below are some examples –

Bouquets

A flower bouquet can express a lot. It can be arranged to be elegantly neat or to convey a completely different feeling.

Decorations

In a flower decoration, each flower has its own place. The decoration can harmonize with the flowers surrounding the object of farewell or perhaps reflect its character. Flower decorations express many different emotions – they can be neat, playful, sober, harmonious – so choose one that suits how you want to say goodbye.

Collaborations with local florists

We collaborate with local florists who have extensive experience in flower arrangements for various ceremonies. When we have together decided which flowers should embellish the ceremony, we at Ars Moriendi can help order them and also decorate the venue.

Attach a last greeting

It is possible to attach a final greeting to the decoration or bouquet. It is common to also indicate who the sender of the flowers is.

– Some common greetings –

  • Rest in peace
  • A last farewell
  • Thank you for our time together
